So, let’s sip to ‘la dolce vita’ at some of the best Italian restaurants in Perth.

Vin Populi

There’s something about this gorgeous, effortlessly cool Italian wine bar that has us feeling like we could linger here for hours.  With the most refreshing cocktails (the limoncello spritz is to-die-for), crave-worthy antipasti and a beautiful, breezy atmosphere, it’s easy to see why Vin Populi has fast become a Fremantle hotspot – and one of the best Italian restaurants in Perth. The pasta is fresh, the menu is banging and the wine list is incredible.

Il Lido

This relaxed-yet-sophisticated seaside Italian canteen in Cottesloe is serving all the good stuff – that’s hand-made pasta, Italian coffee, fresh pastries, dolce and aperitivo – all with a side of breathtaking views of iconic Cottesloe beach. Inside, the mood is casual and the atmosphere is vibrant. But the idyllic front terrace at golden hour, aperitivo in hand as the sun sets over the ocean, is the only place to be.

Si Paradiso

Highgate’s slice of retro-Italy serves some of the best-woodfired pizzas in Perth, but that’s not all this gem has going for it. Si Paradiso has a front lobby restaurant/bar that’s perfect for sips and catch-ups over delicious Italian snacks and sharing plates, but it’s the impressive outdoor amphitheatre where the magic happens. There’s a sense of privacy and excitement when you step inside this cooler-than-cool space, and if you catch a sunset party or a Sunday session, you can easily forget there’s a whole world outside.

Birraz Ristobar

Dining at this authentic Italian eatery in Mount Hawthorn is always a fun and relaxing time, especially when we order ‘Edigo’s Special Selection’ – a steady flow of all the top menu picks, from fresh burrata to mouthwatering pasta and perfectly cooked steak. The perfect spot to gather with a big bunch of friends, or for a more intimate dinner date, this has got to be one of the best value ‘feed me’ menus in Perth, and it’s guaranteed to leave you utterly content.

Spritz Spizzicheria

Celebrating the joy of the quintessential Italian cocktail, the Aperol Spritz, this bubbly Mount Hawthorn restaurant has an extensive menu, excellent cocktails, and atmosphere to boot. The food is authentic at Spritz Spizzicheria (think generous antipasto plates, delicious pasta, pizza and cocktails) and on the more affordable side, and while you can’t book online, walk-ins are always welcomed. It’s no wonder this place is always buzzing.

Bar Vino

A true local gem, Mt Lawley’s brand new Bar Vino won’t be able to stay secret for long. This stunning space is the home of Willing Coffee by day, transforming into a chic and elegant wine bar by night. Grab a table by the window and order an aperitivo as you peruse the menu of Italian dishes that would make every Nonna proud, with the highest quality local produce on display throughout. Trust us when we tell you to order the house made Italian chickpea flatbread. One of our favourite spots for best Italian in Perth, every time.

Volare

This aperitivo-style bar will whisk you away from Maylands to the great coastal cities of Europe, like Sardinia, Marseille and Amalfi. It’s a place to gather for modern Italian and European bites, paired with world class aperitivo and digestivo cocktails, an eclectic amaro selection and a deliciously varied wine list.

Open Wednesday through Sunday, it’s a unique art deco space is full of nostalgic charm – and is a winning spot to relax for the afternoon, with friends and neighbours (even with a cute date).

Unwind, socialise and indulge in la dolce vita, because Volare is up there as one of the best Italian restaurants in Perth.

Threecoins & Sons

For family, friends, and everyone in between. That’s the ethos that spills into everything Threecoins & Sons stand for. Come here to be comforted by elevated classics, as you take a seat in an intimate dining room with checkered tablecloths.

Settle in for wood-fired pinsas (Roman-style pizzas) layered with the likes of mortadella, pineapple salsa, pickled peppers and parmigiano cream, as well as lush handmade pasta. It’s all deliziosa Italian eats made for sharing, albeit with a few inspired touches that may surprise you.

Secondi plates include poached line-caught market fish, grape tomato and black olive acqua pazza and a char-grilled half chicken with lemon, caper and parsley piccata sauce. Perhaps you’d like to fill the table with various bites of antipasti instead, worth their weight in prosciutto crudo? Go for the house selection, some seafood fritto misto, and a bounty of Lambrusco Rosso wine – and you’ll soon be grinning from ear to ear at one of the best new Italian restaurants in Perth.

Lola’s

Lola’s is a family-friendly pizzeria from the team behind Peggy’s, serving up some serious vibes and serious Negronis alongside some of the best Italian in Perth.

The space is moody and light-filled in equal measure, housed in the Imperial Chambers building and awash with beetroot-coloured stone, jarrah timber, mustard yellow tiles, terracotta wine holders and more earthy toned colours.

The pizza menu is split evenly between red-sauce and white-based pies, with plenty of vegetarian options. Lola’s dough is slow-fermented, stretched into thin bases, and cooked a little longer than a Neapolitan-style pizza – and it’s majorly crispy and delicious. We’re partial to their mushroom and potato pizzas; the potato confit-style, and layered with caramelised onion, pancetta and candied rosemary.

Sitchu Tip: You’ve got to try their grandma slice – a square-shaped, deep-sided pizza with a crunchy, high-walled crust of cheese.

41 Market Street, Fremantle

Al Lupo

Another Italian bar-meets-restaurant,  Al Lupo is an instant Fremantle classic in our eyes. It’s an easy-breezy albeit sophisticated bar, cup-runneth-over with Italian flair, that can be found on the edge of Leighton Beach. For walk-ins only, mosey down after your swim and settle in for some exceptional food and refreshing cocktails.

You’ll find it a little too easy to while away the afternoon hours at Al Lupo, thanks to its 100-strong wine list, with a focus on Italian varietals and lo-fi wines in particular, to match it’s lo-fi elegant setting. Food wise, the menu ranges from bar bites to shareable plates. Be sure to dive into their impeccable array of seafood dishes.
