Looking for an excuse to get out of the house? Trivia is the perfect solution! Get together a little group of your pals (or a big group, they’re the ones who always seem to win) and head down to your local bar or pub for a fun game of trivia.

It’s one of the most entertaining ways to spend a night out, it’s great for your brain and for your social life, and helps to support your local pub, to boot. There are a variety of different trivia crews who lead their own style of quiz, so we recommend trying a few different trivia nights around town to see what takes your fancy.

Test your knowledge and learn a whole host of random facts and information whilst having some tasty snacks and maybe even a drink or two while you’re at it.

The Triffid

Beloved for it’s grungy aesthetic, steady stream of quality gigs, and tasty food truck style eats, The Triffid is a popular destination for a trivia Tuesday in Newstead.

The trivia hosted here spans a mix of topics, from music, sports, geography and pop culture, and is hosted in the breezy beer garden, so you’re close to the bar and the kitchen. Chomp on a burger or some cauliflower wings as you challenge other Triffheads.

Newstead Social by name, Newstead Social by nature. Join the team at this friendly pub for a game hosted by Quiz Meisters, packed with weird and wonderful questions to really get you scratching your noggin’.

Quiz Meisters are known best for cross-generational questions, onscreen videos and live games that will mix things up for your trivia session.

Tuesdays here are general trivia, and Thursdays are for theme nights (from the Simpsons, to Taylor Swift). They even have fun prizes up for grabs, so grab your thinking cap and get ready to get competitive.

Brewdog Fortitude Valley

Head down to your favourite carbon-neutral brewery for a two-hour trivia session hosted by Quiz Meisters! Brewdog pours their craft beers from over 20 taps, plates up farm-to-table junk food (with plenty of vegan options) and has other fun games on site like shuffleboard and pinball.

Not only is Brewdog one of the best places to play trivia in Brisbane, it’s guaranteed all-round good vibes and good times from one of Brissie’s favourite pubs.

Busy on Tuesdays? Head to Soapbox Beer for their Wednesday trivia nights (which very conveniently coincide with Wings Wednesday, which means half price wings for dinner).
